My comment is most likely going to be either deleted or downvoted with understandable reason, but these (excuse my langauge) retarded people that complain about her skin tone being slightly lighter and people were calling for that artist for ''white washing'' because she wasn't black enough meanwhile they are totally fine with White/Asian characters being drawn with a brown/black skin tone.
And to make it even more bad, the artist apologized, Never apologize to an SJW, it just makes them think they were in the right and just gaslight you even more.

The problem is that it wasn't an artist that started this nonsense. It was a some twitter discourse idiot that edited and reposted someone else's fanart in the very same thread as the fanart itself that the original fanart that they posted in in order to "put them in their place" and things predictably escalated from there. Artists making bait I'm not particularly a huge fan of but as someone who have seen the antics of the anti-whitewashing side on tumblr for years it was only a matter of time before artists were going to be striking back in some shape or form. We can only hope that eventually people just get tired of acting like edgelords on all sides and just move on to the next fad. Lord knows the anti-whitewashing side will never learn.

Seems to me this whole white wash counter strike is more of a dick move to Merry than anyone else. Merry even said they preferred Rurina darker than what they originally drew, but now other artists are acting like Merry needs to be avenged and are putting a negative spotlight on them.

Danbooru is neither a personal external hard drive nor the Wayback Machine. We're not going to back up the entire Internet, nor should it be used for just the things you want to keep around, but rather anime art of quality.
The ones that have been approved thus far are fine, but don't go encouraging people to upload literally anything related to controversial topics for no reason other than to drag Tumblr nonsense into this website. I quite happily don't visit Tumblr for a reason, and seeing people so willing to drag those arguments here just causes headaches on a site I enjoy going to because it general isn't filled with these same arguments all the time.

You know, sometimes i'm in favor of some topics about the called "sjw" people, but this is absurd. Why you can't draw a character white to black, but no black to white? If you know the cannon and it's ok to you, i think you can do whatever you want and it's not offensive, it's just create alternative desings.
