Tweaked "huge asset" here and in the previous post to "high calibre" because of the following reasons:
1) "asset" isn't really a good translation of 器. 2) 器 actually has "calibre" as a valid translation. 3) "calibre" is contextually fitting since the one who used it is a military officer talking about another military officer to a member of of the military (because, you know, barrelled weapons such as ship(girl) guns are common in modern militaries, and they are often measured in "calibres"). 4) "calibre" has "size" (in a general sense) among its many possible meanings. 5) でかい can mean "high" in the appropiate contexts. 6) "high calibre" can alternately mean "(of a gun) has a large calibre" (so figurative use could make it a fancy way of describing general hugeness/tallness, as in this character's case) or "of a high standard; high-quality; (of a person) highly capable; very skilled, experienced, etc." (which is implied to also apply to the character in question, but the emphasis is on the physical sense of size/height).
