I think they’re trying to imagine as if the girls are actually in the Build Divers universe, where those only exist as one person’s customs and not their own kits.

How do you explain this then? The Sengoku Astray is Nils Nielsen's custom gunpla.
Furthermore, Sora has a Core Gundam 2 (Kuga Hiroto) and Beginning 30 Gundam (Irei Haru) fusion, and Azki has an Amazing Z Gundam (Yuuki Tatsuya).

Not like the artist gave actual lore reason for their custom. Or at least I didn't know of any.

BTW starting with Ina's Neo Zeong, the MS are voted by Twitter poll, although he did not say which VTuber he'll be drawing next.

If I could give her a mecha from a different series I would give her the Persoenlichkeit from SRW as I think it fits her design-wise.

Well, it's not like it's a exact one to one for the Sengoku Astray. There is some customization to it as the head is a modified Mirage frame's and it has the oni no tate on the shoulder as opposed to on the back.

I'm getting some vibes of Kamen Rider Saber with the color scheme for Ayame's Gunpla here!
