What if... Meiling is actually one quarter Dragon on her paternal grandfather's side, one quarter Dragon Yokai on her maternal grandfather's side, and both her grandmothers are/were human, and she looks so human because she hasn't gone through Dragon Yokai Puberty yet as she's STILL not old enough to have done so (remember how slowly dragons age), but when she does, she'll look more like a Yokai (think Dragon Maid), and an epically long time after THAT, she'll go through Dragon Puberty, and look more and more like her (Grand?) Dad, as shown here. (I'm running with it, just enjoy the fan theory!)
