Christ, it's 5 months away from release.

So does anyone know if the design is official, or did artists basically just throw Rin and Miku in a blender and come up with this, because damn that's what it looks like. Not that I dislike it or anything.

Probably a blender image, Crypton's official site still has nothing but a silhouette for Rin, let alone anything for the third character.

Right, that's why I wondered how people had so much Rin fanart. The design (on Rin) is too consistent to be made up, so was it leaked or something?

The character designer posted a pic on the Crypton blog (the company who sells the Vocaloid software) at http://blog.crypton.co.jp/mp/2007/11/vocaloid2_cv02_2.html - I don't know if there is any more official art out yet, but that's what all the fanart seems to be based on. They didn't start appearing until this post appeared, from what I can tell.
