I'd say it's a sunrise, judging by the reaction, but this.

I find it strange that a youkai of darkness, a night sparrow, an ice fairy, and a lightning bug are enjoying a beautiful warm sunrise.

They obviously just watched episode 12 of Madoka.

I figured they're just trying to stare directly at the sun without blinking/getting their retinas burned out.
