Nobody uses these tags

hetero and couple. The 1boy 1girl -hetero search has twice as many posts as hetero, and I think more than half of it deserve the tag. It actually took me over an year to learn of their existence. And since I mostly learn about new tags from checking what edits other people have done on my posts, it seems that even the more active tag gardeners don't use them very often. Is there something we can do about that?

The reason I'm bringing it up is because it has 2.8k pages at 36 posts per page. Not to mention we get new posts without the tags that should have it all the time.

Well, ultimately going trough the archives is doable, for the larger part of the posts at least, but if people just keep not being used it'll get us nowhere. And unlike couple, hetero isn't even in the tag checklist

There's no real way to force people to use tags besides annoying the hell out of them or banning them. However, bringing the tags to mind by putting them in use and making them widespread tends to just naturally add them to uploader and tag gardener mental checklists. I've done so personally with two or three more minor tags in the past. The biggest step is finding someone willing to believe in that enough to burn through thousands of images checking to see if they each meet the criteria, or to basically camp new uploads and add it to all the fitting ones to push it forward.

Pillow_hat is another tag like that. It's a lot more specific, but there's hundreds of pages of yakumo_ran -pillow_hat that need it.

All manner of sleeves are also under-tagged. We could really use an "arm" tag group for that.

The only thing we can do is point it out and start tagging ourselves. Though it would be nice if the editing window would have the tag groups in collapsible menus in the related tags section to act as a guideline.

Tags like hetero and couple are ones that I'll admit to forgetting about (far more with the former), but I'll be sure to use them whenever I can going forward, in my own and other uploads I see.

I can vouch for this. Constantly contacting people about how certain tags should work gets annoying on both sides, more when it's something visual and not subjective. So using said tags yourself often and hoping people see the proper usage is another way to go. While it's the same for incorrect usage, where others can get the wrong idea from misuse and spread that further, they can still be contacted and corrected.

Recently added hetero to a lot of rating:e+love_live!_school_idol_project pictures. As Kikimaru said, hetero is a rather recent tag and has yet to catch up to everything that needs it, using it in posts you upload and correcting posts that need it is probably the easiest way to get it to be more widespread.

Having Tag Groups appended to the suggestions when you enter a tag would be beautiful. It'd also streamline the tagging and uploading process, I think.

Not to derail this discussion, but regarding the topic of tags that could be far more common, indoors and outdoors appear to get missed on a regular basis by a lot of prolific uploaders. It's surprising that seemingly broader tags get ignored in favor of more specific tags like classroom or beach. There's an argument to be made that the setting isn't always obvious in some images, but this isn't always the case.

Hopefully some uploaders will read this thread and think about these tags more in the future. I'll continue adding them regardless.

This should be technically possible - not exactly easy, as tag groups currently do not exist as a database entity, but rather as a wiki page - but I can't quite imagine how that would work, or what it would look like.

Usually, I use "Related tags" feature everytime I want to post something. Let's say, I post yakumo ran pics and click Related tags when highlighting yakumo ran tag, then some unusual tags like tassel or pillow hat comes to the list. It's surprisingly helpful for me to know that these tags are exist. So, how about include hetero on the related tags list?

Those are generated from tags linked on the wiki page for yakumo_ran. Notice that pillow hat, tassel, and others are linked there.

hetero isn't something that usually applies to a specific character. Any character can engage in a hetero romantic/sexual relationship.

Is it possible to, let's say, blocking 2 tags 1girl and 1boy and click Related tags to show hetero on list?
If it isn't possible, then how about linking hetero on those two tags?

Well I guess the "see also" list is ambiguous enough to allow this. I really don't see who would click on "related" after typing in one of those tags though. I, for one, only check related if I'm unsure about a tag (i.e. some kind of clothing) or on characters/copyrights for easier clicking and making sure I don't forget something
