Tag Alias: muffler -> scarf

muffler -> scarf, by definition:
muffler (n): a scarf worn around the neck

However, I should also point out that I've seen "muffler" being used to describe a sort of short cape, to differentiate it from "scarf" (as a long piece of fabric that you wrap around the neck). This usage might stem from the armor item in ragnarok online, examples post #380680, post #377452, post #197517 and worn by Konomi in post #214706. Though clearly, this usage isn't common here, so I don't think there should be any problem with the proposed alias.

So I'm inclined to accept this alias, but will check back tomorrow before doing so.

Dang, I swear I used to know the name for those little cloak things...but I can't remember what it is. Are they a kind of shrug maybe?

For what it's worth, I think there are a few of those things filed under cloak as well.

I'd probably call it a mantle. Shrug's taken as a verb anyway.

I support the muffler -> scarf alias. Unless I'm wrong due to ignorance, the two are too similar to tag separately.

For the "short cape", there's also a capelet tag which has the same thing you pointed out. However, I second calling them a mantle as it's the one I've heard most often.

capelet +1; for me, mantle connotes a longer, ceremonial kind of cloak-like garment.

Is there any instance of car parts here? I'd assume they're just lumped under one or two all-encompassing tags, though.

When Shinjidude said mantle, I immediately thought "That's the word I was looking for!", but capelet sounds good too, and has the benefit of basically being interpreted by anyone reading the tag as a "small cape".

At the moment, I think either is fine.

I'd never heard of capelet before, but it sounds fine to me.

As for mantels necessarily being long though, you can find instances of "shoulder mantles" that are exactly what we are looking for.
