alias presenting_armpit -> armpit_focus

Posted under Tags

There are plenty of cases in presenting armpit where the armpits aren't the main focus of the image. There are some where you can't even see the armpit, although this may just be a case of wanting gardening.

Also, I know the wiki says presenting armpit is for presenting it to the viewer, but could it not also be used for when the armpit is being presented to another character? There are a few images in the tag that are sort of like this.

Is there any case of that? Because I gave a glance to the results and I can't find any picture under that tag that's not armpit focus.

The reason why I'm proposing the alias is because they're functionally identical, we're just putting the same concept into two different tags. It doesn't matter to me which one we pick, but if you open the two tags in two different tabs side by side and don't look at the tab title, you won't be able to tell a difference between the two.

Wouldn't it be enough to just tag it with armpits? And in the case of the pose itself, just arms_up?

Updated

Some sort of examples:
post #5046338 is more presenting the armpit to someone else than to the viewer.
post #5034316 and its children have images with text boxes covering the presented armpit and post #5034323 where again it is clearly being presented to another character.
I wouldn't consider post #5008824 or post #4592081 to be armpit focus, even though the armpit is being presented to the viewer

there's a whole load of things like post #4634275 in the tag which arguably shouldn't be there at all.

If you look back to the oldest posts with this tag, it's not hard to see the thought process that went into it. You have images like post #1277215 and post #2385245 where the character is lifting her arm with the obvious goal of showing her armpit off, and using body language to communicate that fact. It's not quite spread_armpit, but the purpose is the same. Seems reasonable that this should be a taggable concept, right?

But once again, uploaders refuse to use common sense. I don't know if people are projecting their fetishes onto drawn characters, or simply ignoring the original intent behind tags in order to stuff their posts with more tags, but we shouldn't have to explain to anyone that the girl in post #5241367 isn't "presenting" anything. Likewise for any other posts where a sleeveless character is simply performing an action that involves raising their arms, like stretching (post #4266144) or rubbing their head (post #4600224).

Unfortunately, I don't know of a solution for tag dilution like this that doesn't involve constantly babysitting uploaders and metaphorically slapping their hands with DMs and user records. The wiki evazion wrote for this tag is perfectly fine, but you can't force anyone to actually read it.
