English to Japanese title aliases

Either way, that English name is what some fans will know the series as, since there will always be non-turbo weebs who dont want to remember 3 Japanese words. Wikipedia redirects the English to the Japanese. Hell, we even have this name as the first line in the wiki. This is an alias from a widely accepted, if unofficial, to the name that is correct, not the other way around. Those aggregate streaming sites are some of the ones I could just think of off the top of my head. That was gogoanime, 9anime, kissanime, and some other sites. If the alias is good enough for them, people will expect that name to be equivalent to the real name.

Here are some fans using that name. Is this a small selection? Yes. That's why the English title is getting aliased to the Japanese title.

The aliases done in this topic are there to help people not familiar with the original japanese title who are searching for (mostly) obscure series. All of your examples are third-party sources or random blogs that also use the original title. What's the chance that someone is going to search for "goodbye mr despair" instead of just the original title, when the original title is how the series is marketed as in the west?

Bob asked for fans using that name, so that's what those sites are. The imgur album I linked above showed streaming sites using the name in addition to or as a replacement of the Japanese name. I proposed the BUR because sometimes someone just have a brain issue and forget the word for goodbye in Japanese of that one show they watched years ago. People use the English name. Less than the Japanese name, but it is still used. From what I remember when the manga was being produced, it definitely was not a popular series in the west. There was maybe 2 cosplayers of characters in the show at my local convention compared to the army of Narutos and Gokus and Edward Elrics. Now 10 years later, it is even more obscure. It got 33 posts in the last year. 136 posts in the last 5. It has definitely fallen into obscurity. Not as obscure as Tiger & Bunny, but still obscure.
