deprecate alternate_form

This is a hodgepodge tag that is better served by the more specific transformation taking place like animalization and objectification, or more specific character tags like phainon_(khaslana)_(honkai:_star_rail) and takakura_ken_(transformed)_(dandadan).

While I could see value in a broader official alternate form tag to catch smaller one-off instances in it's current state this tag is useless and should just be deprecated and organized.

so i'm probably the niche case here but, which tag should be used for an alternate variant?

i'm reluctant to make new character tags (the route pokemon took for their evolutions) or new gentags period (the current way to tag distinct fish of the same family but different species), but they're distinct enough that it's not just a reskinning/reclothing: post #9807085, for example.

Given the context of Dredge I'd just tag them corruption honestly or maybe straight-up eldritch abomination for some of them. Either way it's not really an "alt form" of the fish so much as a mutation so I'd use tags like body horror, torn skin, material growth, and other more descriptive tags to describe the fish not alternate_*

Never been a fan of this one as well as a lot of the alternate-type tags. I think users should be less afraid to create high-information tags or character tags. Easy upvote.

I understand the reasoning here; alternate_form is too broad a tag to be worth tagging with, but there is some value (in my eyes) in how it can be used to simply find any alternate form of a character. This seems to lend some value to the idea of setting up tag groups to search by, sort of like wildcard support or a "parent tag" system.

[..] but also a lack of wings, etc

Redesigns are alternate design. We have no_* tags for characters that are drawn without something they would typically have: no wings.

I'm not sure I get the first two examples and how or where they differ from the originals after a brief look but those can't be alternate forms when they're still the same species. Alternate form is made specifically for a transformation into something else, to which we already have character tags or better and more descriptive tags for those.
