Is there a way to post Deviantart & Instagram art without having to download them to my PC first? Because every time I paste them in the bar, the error notice shows up.

I don't think Instagram has ever been supported for uploading, probably because its rate limits are brutal (it would just refuse to let me access the site after abt 100 posts even while logged in). Granted that's doing it manually, so it could be better or much much worse through an API.

well there's no solution mentioned there.

For Instagram, you can right-click on the image, choose Inspect or Inspect Element from the dropdown menu, and find the image URL from there.
when I do this just mountains of script show up, what am I looking for exactly? I found a whole bunch of JavaScript's at the top, there's a few huge script walls, I used select element, selected the art & there's no link just class div, there's a whole bunch of div class of the same element that zigzag for some reason, what am I doing here?
I think I'll just stick to downloading the art if I have to bother with inspect element.

onto a different topic, what's the opinion on Pinterest? Is it safe to upload images from there, or should we opt for a better source?
Generally, you should opt for a better source since Pinterest is considered a third-party source due to most artworks posted there being reposts and of lower resolution than the original sources. I have encountered artists before that solely post to Pinterest though, so it is probably fine to use the Pinterest source in those cases.
Sometimes pinterest posts point towards where the image originally came from. Usually not though.
source:*pinterest* arttags:0 is one of my pain point searches.
gallery-dl plug.

Did you try expanding the elements? If you right-click the image first and choose Inspect Element after that, it should take you near the part where that element is. If you expand the element right above that (click the right arrow, plus sign, or however it shows up), it should show you a URL that starts with something like "https://scontent-iad3-2.cdninstagram.com". That's the link to the full-size image.
If for some reason you're not near the element you need, you can move your cursor over the text blocks to see where you are. The corresponding element will be highlighted.
