plush, plushie, stuffed_animal
I made the plush wiki long ago, mostly to seperate what appears to be a stuffed animal (teddy bear) of a known animal VS something that is made up. Should there be a different description and tag for them and plush just aliased to plushie?

how about just calling the unanimal shaped toys stuffed_toy? and alias plush to stuffed_animal.

It's hard to alias plush or plushie specifically to animal when it doesn't have to be, but that's probably how it's gonna be used most of the time. And I don't know if people will get the distinction between animal and toy...
Should stuffed_toy maybe be the general tag and stuffed_animal implicating it?
Very likely most character_dolls would fall under the category of stuffed_toy, but I'd say it'd only work on a tagged-when-scene basis.
The same might hold true with doll, but there are plenty of dolls that I could imagine that wouldn't fit under stuffed_toy.

Gotta be careful, because character_doll got fudged to include hand puppets. (forum #42792)
I do mean we should be careful, but that doesn't negate the fact that the majority would fall under the category of stuffed toy. As you say though, there are things that would prevent anything like an implication but those would not prevent us using a tagged-when-seen policy with it.
