IMO, sex should be aliased to sexual_intercourse so people will stop confusing it and using it on non-futa yuri. Since, after all, even the wiki for sex says: "Pictures depicting the act of sexual intercourse."

The sex tag is a bit ambiguous if you aren't looking up it's wiki. It might be worthwhile to broaden out the definition of the sex tag and implicate the sex related tags to it, and have a tag like sexual_intercourse for true intercourse. Though there is also the vaginal tag, which seems to be defined as vaginal penetration by either a sex toy or penis... so it heavily overlaps with any intercourse specific tag.
Well, in that case the sex tag was added because threesome implicates sex. I made a thread about removing that implication once (forum #29600), but it didn't get much discussion.
Aside from that, you're right that the tag is confused sometimes, so I'm in favor of aliasing it to something less ambiguous. The only downside is that calling it intercourse sounds a little bit prudish to me, but eh, I can live with that.
