Pool Favoriting?

Posted under General

Even if you're a Member-level user, you can still add the pools to your subscription list (in pool:1234 or pool:Name_of_Pool format) and even though it won't "subscribe" to them, it'll at least provide a handy search link from your userpage.

Somewhat related to the pikbak's question, are pools and voting on them. There have been quite a few times where I've wanted to upvote an entire pool, and also to order the pools by their score. Has there ever been any consideration to adding such a feature?

1. Search pool:####.
2. Under "Mode", select "Vote up"
3. Click posts.
4. ????
5. Profit!

Yeah, that fulfills item 1, voting for a pool, but not item 2, i.e. ordering pools by their score. I could always write a script that would add up up each image's individual scores and average them, and then order the pools.

If it offers anything, someone filed a Trac ticket about this a little while ago.

Looks like it's slated as a feature for Danbooru 2.

Cool, thanks for the info.

I thought about creating a new topic, but then just decided it would be better to use this topic. As can be seen though, this was intended to be a feature, but somehow got lost in the process.

This is still something I've thought about occasionally, and I believe it would add value to Danbooru. It will allow users to better find popular pools, or show appreciation for a pool instead of just upvoting an image here or there.

A few questions though.

1. Should pool downvoting be allowed, or should it be more like favorites?
2. Should it only be allowed on series pools, or collection pools as well?
3. Would pool votes replace post votes... at least on series pools?

Thoughts?

I'm not sure about any of that, but I'd like to be able to 'subscribe' to pools, especially series pools, so I can known when things like comics/etc get updated

EDIT: Evidently this is possible with your eventlistener script :p

It’s also possible to save a pool:ID search and have the pool’s posts show up in your saved searches. Not sure if that’s what you want, though.

Yeah, the EventListener script is located in topic #14747.

Yeah, though it doesn't really tell you when new posts have been added, how many, or which posts they are.

Just another plug, but BetterSavedSearches in topic #15462 mirrors your own saved searches, and lets you know when new posts are added along with how many and which posts, along with several other additional features.
