Reason: We tend to go with the English unless there is something special with the Japanese. In this case, gao means roar. We have an underpopulated roar tag so I think the alias should go this way.
It might be worthwhile to keep them separate. Do something like have gao where it's more of the cutesy depiction (which is pretty much all the posts currently under gao) while having roar for the non-cutesy stuff.

Agree on keeping gao separate, it's not really quite the same thing. Roar is pretty empty... 2 images. Nearly all of it would be gao. Maybe keep separate until we know roar(ing) is actually going to get used?
