Image glitches

Why do some pictures turn into just descriptive words instead of a larger version of the thumbnail? Or do some pix not like FF8? Here is an example:

I clearly remember sometimes having the problem you described.

The image you linked, however, appeared normally to me at this moment. I don't see any problem now.

The "descriptive words" are called "alt text" and are supposed to pop up when you hold your mouse over the image (though some browsers seem to leave out that feature these days). On Danbooru, the alt text is just the tags the image currently has. When the image fails to load, the alt text shows up in its place. Most modern browsers will allow you to right click that text and attempt to reload the image without refreshing the page.
