Requesting a upload limit reset

Posted under General

Some time ago, I uploaded a comic series that got approved some time ago, now it is being deleted. I understand why it is being deleted and all, but it's killing my upload limit!

I'm not requesting an appeal, I'm requesting an upload limit reset.

For future reference, this kind of thing is best done by asking a mod directly, rather than posting on the forum about it. The mods are the only ones who can do what you're asking, anyway.

However, I doubt you'll get much sympathy in this case. Things like this are precisely the reason why we created the feature that reduces your upload limit when your submissions are rejected in the first place.

Well, not necessarily. Odds are he would have stopped posting them if the first batch hadn't been approved, the fact that any of them were deleted only after he had posted dozens upon dozens and they were approved shows it wasn't entirely his fault.

i'll just ask if uploaders of posts from artists that requested removal (much later) are also affected by limiting their upload limit?

if that's the case, i would propose a flag/delete decay. for newer images, a post that underwent and passed moderation can be flagged only for some time e.g. 1 month. if it was flagged in that duration and was deleted, it can still cost the uploader a 1 deleted post count. if it was flagged and deleted after the 'grace period' the user/uploader shouldn't cost anything. it's not he's fault that his upload was approved for that long. i guess the approving/flagging party should be given the penalty more because they're not going their responsibility.

and regarding posts from banned_artist, i guess these too shouldn't cost the uploader anything. it's not their fault that the artist doesn't want their work to be hosted somewhere else.

just some points worth considering. thanks.

They are, and like you said they probably shouldn't be. However that would probably be difficult to automate and artist's issuing take downs is pretty rare. In that event though I doubt an admin would be unwilling to bump you back up.

I don't know if albert was already asked (I didn't receive a mail request) but I set it such that your base is now +5, I didn't want to restore back to 10 because you have a number of deletions not related to this comic too. This seemed like a compromise.

I accept that, thank you!
