Pool to tag: This Pleases Mugi

Keep as pool.

The problem being that the pool is for specifically Mugi, and I want to include other chars/sexes. So either we change the pool to a tag or rewrite the pool. It isn't worth having one thing for Mugi and one thing for everything else, since the basic definition I'm looking at is "the Mugi pool, but more than Mugi/yuri".

What would the tag be called? "Spectating" is what came to mind for me; it's ambiguous, but if we just spell out our special definition in its wiki page, it's workable.

I wouldn't call it "spectating" or "voyeurism" given the userbase's tendency to misinterpret tags. For me, the first thing that came to mind was "yuri goggles," or "shipping goggles" if you want to be gender-neutral.

I like "shipper" vs "shipping" just because the latter makes me immediately think of UPS or FedEx. I guess the former could also be used for the person sending a package, but the association is not as strong.

I'm not aware of any good English or Japanese term that succinctly describes this phenomenon. In this specific case, It's almost a reverse-fujoshi of sorts. Where most typical fujoshi are girls that will swoon over any action between two guys that could be construed as intimate (c.f. Sazanka Bianca), this is describing the same thing but with two girls. Neither of those terms really generalizes the genders of either the watcher or those being watched though.

I think TV Tropes is calling this Shipper on Deck , though as usual, they use cutesy names that don't fit our naming conventions very well. Perhaps a point towards shipper though?

OP wanted to broaden it beyond a girl swooning over two other girls.

If we keep it to pairing up two girls, then yuri goggles would fit. I don't know if yaoi goggles is a common phrase but it could reflect the opposite.

If we keep it to a girl pairing up two girls, well, we might as well just leave the pool alone regardless of what else we do.

I'm not too concerned about finding a "real word" for it because any remotely appropriate word would also be much too broad and ambiguous.

Het couples, too. Totally gender-neutral. You want yuri, add yuri to the tag search. Same with yaoi. We don't need to keep the variations separate.

That's exactly why I'd prefer to import the one from TV Tropes, shipper_on_deck. It associates much, much less with package sending person.

The problem with that is you start diluting yaoi and yuri with false positives, such as post #734632 and post #1056621. After all, this new tag is all about seeing otherwise-innocent situations through a shipping filter. I'd rather make it its own concept and tag.

I have never ever heard the term "shipper on deck". Is that even used outside of TVT?

It's not as ubiquitous as, say, "The Scrappy." "Shipping googles" would be less ambiguous to everyone outside TVT though; it's usually the first thing that gets yelled whenever a fanbase starts flaming each other regarding the One True Pair.

Shipping goggles could work, though it sounds like an object rather than something that's happening in the picture.
But isn't the term "shipping" rather well-known among internet users these days?
edit: and I expect we're not going to see a whole lot of shipping in the sense of fedex happening in our pictures, so false positives would be easily handled on a case-by-case basis

I'm saying a single tag for one person watching two people, for all combinations of gender. Are you trying to make three separate tags for yuri/yaoi/het or not?
