I still disagree with tagging parody posts with the origin's copyright tag.

Well, it looks like richie has gone and removed the mirai_nikki tag from the "Yandere trance" posts without discussion. I don't care too much, really, but I dislike how it messes up "connection" tag searches. When I search mirai_nikki season_connection, I should be able to see post #1051270. I added it back to at least those posts for that reason.

I'm trying not to jump out of the woods and overzealously remove such tags, but if we don't tag memes by their origins title then I remove them. And yes, it's really annoying when you're searching mirai_nikki (or gasai_yuno as anon0014 noticed) tag only to be greeted with 6 screens of memes it spawned - but have no longer anything common with it. This of course doesn't apply to posts like
post #1023265
which are correctly tagged by both mirai_nikki and yandere_trance.

Apologies for bumping an old thread, but I wanted to say a few things.

mirai_nikki -yandere_trance or mirai_nikki -parody
Pretty simple.

And saying that yandere trance parodies have nothing in common with Mirai Nikki makes no sense. The connection is obvious: They parody a scene from Mirai Nikki.

Plus what about people who are annoyed when they search mirai_nikki parody and don't find most of the Mirai Nikki parody pictures?

Some tags will end up containing a lot of another tag. This is just the way it turns out sometimes. If you don't want to see the pictures with the other tag, then you have to negate the other tag from your search. Why should it be different for named parodies?

No, it's not. Such search would exclude posts I've mentioned before (post #1023265 post #1027851 post #1019708) and are easily available by doing mirai_nikki yandere_trance right now.

Connection of memes (in general) with their origins is far from being obvious - what many previous discussions at this forum are proving, btw.

At the very least they can use yandere_trance search tag, easily finding the rest (majority) of them.

True. But if we can remedy this, there is no reason not to do it. And separating memes from their origins gives us cleaner database (because of less number of "false positives") plus some additional search possibilities.
