Why is Furry banned?

So it's okay to post non-sexual decently made furry art then?

If its really good, and it is on topic (ie, related to anime/manga) and not from Deviantart, it may be worth uploading.

I'm very hesitant to say anything that will be taken as etched-in-stone precedent (so I reserve the right to change my stance at any time), but if it's along the lines of post #466766, I suppose so. It definitely would not be the first image I'd rush to approve in the queue or defend against an unapproval, mind you. But I would reckon that's not what the TOS was particularly intending to ban either.

Furry art is banned because we don't want to attract furries.
e621 is plagued with stupid jokes in the comments, tags, and notes, because furries have a terrible sense of humor.

That said, I know the folks who run e621 and they're all right.
Nothing against furry art, it's just a different area of interest with a different community.

I've noticed this as well. I usually delete dumbass notes from pictures on e621. I'm a furry, and have to say that e621 is disappointing. There is some good art there, and by some, I mean a paltry 10-15% at best. And don't get me started with the idiotic comments. If it was run the same way Danbooru is, it'd turn out pretty good. But until then, shit will remain shit until brain function improves.

Can we please stay a bit more on-topic instead of turning this into some sort of rally thread.

Personally, I think that even a tag called furry and a wiki link to anthropomorphism can misdirect users about the type of content posted on DB.

We'll deal with it when it happens. We need a descriptive tag to call, well, furry creatures, and the ToS should be strong enough a signal for fchan users not to post here. I'm not going to give up a useful tag just because some furry somewhere is dumb.

Man, I sure do love it when people make broad generalizations about me based on my interest in furry art. It really is that extra touch that makes me feel particularly ashamed to turn to Danbooru for my Touhou needs. Well, if you don't want to attract furries, mission fucking accomplished.
