Should we do anything to tighten up the definition of contrast? It's an extremely vague tag that I've recently noticed is being used for practically any sort of image with two or more different blocks of color, even if it's just two characters with different skin or hair color. See post #1685997, post #2453590, post #2819027, post #2945326, post #3216959 — the list goes on and on. If we're going to allow this tag to be used so loosely, it might as well apply to half the multiple_girls posts on the site.

So contrast is a milder version of high contrast? I have to admit I've never seen the tag before much less used it so I don't know how useful it is in the first place.

Contrast has been around for quite a while, but for a long time it was poorly populated and undefined. From what I can tell it was used in much the way you describe: images that used bright and dark colors for visual effect, like post #603082, post #677234, and post #1031537. Within the last couple years, though, user #454515 apparently decided to expand it to include anything and everything with contrasting concepts — angel and devil, day and night, different reflection, dual persona, interracial, split theme, and all kinds of symmetry with little regard for whether there's any significant visual contrast at all. Like, if post #3335887 counts as contrast, then so does literally any other picture of a light-skinned person with black hair.

IMHO, the tag's existence was already on shaky ground to begin with, as it was basically high contrast-lite, but now it's so ambiguous I don't see the point in keeping it.

I'm not sure if this is the place to mention it, but since someone made a tag to differentiate Orchis from Granblue Fantasy's Queen Orchis, I thought I'd made wiki entries for both of them to make the distinction between the two characters clearer. It's my first time putting effort in writing a wiki entry, so I'd like it if other people looked over it to make sure it reaches whatever quality standard is usually set for these.

I'd also just like someone to look over the Orchis entry to expand a little bit on the Shingeki no Bahamut stuff. I don't play it, and I haven't read up on the lore in ages.

Yes. We also have soda can instead of canned soda. What's inside the can doesn't matter. What the shape of the can is, and what it implies is inside, is important.

It was suggested in forum #115299 that the canned beverage tags all be merged together, though I don't understand the point of a beverage_can tag if can is only supposed to be used for beverage cans anyway.

Though we have canned coffee instead of coffee can.

That may be because coffee_can is likely to be misconstrued as a tag for the other kind of coffee can, at least in parts of the world where coffee isn't typically consumed from a can.
