Removing males from female topless tag

This issue will keep happening as long as you have to check the wiki to understand how to use a tag named topless. It's the same issue we had with shirtless but reversed (topic #19466).

Agreed. As I said in that discussion several months ago, people see a tag called topless and assume (rightfully so) that it's for topless characters. They don't assume it's specifically for topless female characters (especially if they're ESL).

BUR #10014 has been rejected.

mass update topless -clothed_animal -clothed_pokemon -no_humans -1other -multiple_others -> topless_female

Let's try this again now it's been proven for the umpteenth time that people don't read wikis. We've also consistently seen with tags like pubic hair and dark skin that it's a bad idea to only have male gendered versions of tags that can apply to any gender, so let's actually fix it this time. Obviously this should only be approved after the mistags above are fixed.

A point of contention last time was making topless a parent tag; while I still think that's a good idea it should be a seperate discussion so as to not hamper this BUR.

I think shirtless male would've just ended up with different kinds of mistags, such as posts where a character is wearing a jacket or other top but no shirt. It would just be mistaken for no shirt.
Looking at old posts there's still mistags like that that were not fixed with this tag was moved from shirtless, like post #3550848, post #3552857, post #3229962, post #2834525, post #2809103 and a shitton of others (topless_male jacket age:>2y solo has a small sample).

Ironically I just noticed no shirt also says not to use that tag with male posts, but no_shirt male_focus... topless male also mentions to use no shirt in those cases, it seems whoever wrote it naturally assumed something as simple as "no shirt" had no gender requirement.

Even without the addition of males, no shirt is a mess. The weird thing about that line in the topless male wiki is that it was written by the same person who in an early edit clearly understood that no shirt was for girls.

I'm guilty of using no shirt male focus because of the way the wikis are written. (I corrected all of mine.) I found no shirt via the topless male wiki, which says not to use if the character is wearing a jacket/coat/overalls/etc without a shirt. Because of that, I assumed no shirt was gender neutral despite referencing bra, so I never actually read no shirt in its entirety and missed that gender bit at the end. If people who don't read the wikis just tag what they see, they'll probably continue to use no shirt when a male character isn't wearing a shirt with an article of clothing that's typically worn over a shirt. I can also see this being an issue when tagging a skinny adult male or boys because one can't use the bare pectorals and abs tags to imply the lack of shirt.
