For some reason tantan_men_(dragon) was removed from Other Names in artist #101067 even though I only touched URLs and Notes. I'm not sure what's going on there.

Also, I think it's safe to say that Twipple and Twitpic aren't coming back and can probably removed from the Notes section and kept as URLs marked dead.

Duplicate or redundant other names are automatically removed when an artist is edited. Here, the other name "tantan_men_(dragon)" is redundant because the artist tag is already tantan_men_(dragon). You can't have an other name that's the same as the tag name.

I figured as much, but curiously the artist name has been tantan_men_(dragon) since the 3rd revision in 2013 and yet somehow tantan_men_(dragon) still got added as an other name in the revision just prior to mine about a year ago.

Not a big deal, I just wanted to make sure I didn't accidentally trip over one of the many obscure "gotchas" of editing...

I usually prefer the Romanized version in almost all cases, the one exception being if Katakana is used to spell out some foreign word. That is also the preference on this site (howto:artist).

However, Eromanga Sensei is already taken as a copyright. Therefore, to avoid confusion, I'd use one of the following two names.

  • eromanga_sensei_(vgyh4354)
    • The qualifier comes from their user account name, user_vgyh4354, however I always chop off the "user_" part for those
    • The user account can be found by plugging in one of the artists illustrations into the public API
    • Ex: https://www.pixiv.net/ajax/illust/72049441
  • eromanga_sensei_(pixiv72049441)

If no one can help me I'm just gunna call them "old world" which is what I get out of GT.
