Christ, people, if ponies bother you that much, blacklist the tag. I'm not really pro- or anti-pony, but the art here isn't bad, so I see no reason to reject it.
Normally I'm quite neutral on the whole issue of MLP pics, namely because I can't judge it since I haven't watched it. But this pic, I have to say, is amazing, for the sole reason of pony Okuu. Just imagining her firing off a Giga Flare with her horn is goddamn awesome.
Another neutral here, though slightly on the negative side due to personal tastes, but I think this is well beyond the pass line. Clever somewhat, acceptable art quality, Japan-related. And the moderators agreed that the ponies can be accepted in Danbooru.
Like BakaHoushi (Miroku?) said, tag blacklist function isn't there for taking space, so make use of it if there's something you can't stand in Danbooru because of your personal preferences.
I'm a bit sad that Orin and Okuu are rendered as ponies. It broke the pattern of the other pics (Ran and Chen in PCB, Wriggle, Mystia and the bunnies in IN).
This being said, I wanted to the see the EoSD, if only for Patchy. (I believe the other EoSD are in other pics by this artist)

She has actually done this in a differant picture, Rin and Utsuho in thier animal forms.

Why hate MLP? Because of the fan? Come on, they just put series that they love in pony style for fun. This will not please some people but the quality of MLP is the same that for Touhou: The universe, the character.
Hating this is foolish, if you don't like, don't look. And if it bother you that some people love this... It can be say for any other fan universe, like touhou, madoka, nanoha, etc.
I want to point out that I love when artists are totally cool with us aggregating and tagging their stuff, in spite of fandom-hating bollocks. Don't forget how rare that is-- we should treasure it.

There's tons of parodies like this on Danbooru, I don't really get why this particular show is so controversial.
It carries a stigma with it because of what it's based off of. Most people look at the series at facevalue with the name and think 'Sweet Unholy Hell it's another half hour block of candy, priss and downplaying to two-year-olds', others are largely pissed at a lot of the community that's built around it, whether they understand it or not, and others don't care or are a bulk of other factors too numerous to list.
Point of the matter is on the former that it's understandable. If you haven't seen the show, but you've seen the commercials, especially for the toys they're putting out based off it, it can be... cringe-worthy, at best. People who've watched the show either have made a genuine choice to like it or dislike it, and, really, because of the creative team that's built it into what it is and not the franchise it's been based off of, some spectacularly well-developed, and still-developing, characters have formed and a community has embraced it no one expected would. If Madoka or Touhou had been downplayed the same way My Little Pony had for years, all series surrounding a mass of female leads with hardly, if any, major male run-in, and suddenly flipped like this, they'd face similar treatment. It's just what people have been groomed to expect from such things.
If they're just pissed at the community, barring the... squickier parts that come with every one there is? Welllll... haters gonna hate.

Double standards. You cant really avoid it either. You grow over it with time... But basically:
Fans annoy you with a certain show. You start hating the show for giving birth to such annoying people.
I have a few personal examples with like lucky star. I tought the show was bad to begin with, but i started to hate the fans spewing stuff about it everywhere. And thus the show was only bad for me, but i hated it for the fans it got.
Personally i like MLP:FIm not crazy fan either. And i do find fans utterly annoying, but thats their fault not the show's.
