    Odotettu jatko-osa iskee.
    Tausta lainattu täältä:
    Autenttisen ufoporno-fiiliksen saamiseksi.
Ja älkää säikähtäkö, tämä ei ole viimeinen "jakso", pelkkä lainaus alkuperäisestä sketsistä.

    UFOPORNOOOO.jpg

    The long-awaited sequel is here.
Background borrowed from https://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Kourindou for the authentic Ufoporno-feeling.
And don't worry, this won't be the last "episode". It's just a quote from the original skit.

When this gets translated, I hope that "ufoporno" actually does mean "UFO porno"

...sort of, but not really. Ufoporno is a Finnish meme. See post #1081896.

In case someone gets worried, the artist said this won't be the final "episode" of these 4koma. It's just a quote from the original skit.

Edit: Oh, and by the way, "Kourindoun" seems to be a deliberate misspelling.

Quick change of the tag from multiple_persona to clone. The former is for when there are more than 2 different versions of the same character (like post #1102955, for instance) and the latter is for when there's multiple copies of one version of a character, as is the case here.

"A real sugar on the bottom"? Not familiar with that idiom. Is it sort of like "a cherry on top", a nice finisher to something already good?

Yeah, it's literal translation from Finnish idiom. And translating idioms literally is very stupid.

No, it isn't. It might come from some Finnish dialect, but leaving the n letter in English translation is plainly wrong.

    njinx said:
As for Ranilla, it actually means "Ran has [something]". Finnish does not really use prepositions like English does, instead it's all about playing around with prefixes and suffixes. -lla/-llä adds a possessive meaning to the subject (Ran). However, you can't add it straight after a consonate, so -i is added in between. So you can break the word down into three components: The "core" word, harmonic vowel, and the possessive suffix. Ran|i|lla.

    I wonder if there's a connection?

I couldn't think of a matching English idiom so I left it literal (Thinking back, a stupid thing to do. I know.) because I thought it would get the meaning across anyway. I fixed it now to the cherry thing (I wonder how I didn't think of that).

I disagree here. Adding the n here is incorrect in Finnish and doesn't happen in any dialect I know of. The grammatically correct forms are "Kourindoulla" and "Kourindoun" instead of the ones you see with the added "ni"/"in". It sounds silly to a Finnish speaker. I believe the artist added it on purpose either because it's funny or as a reference to something and if the artist intended Finnish speakers to find it wrong, the translation should follow suit IMO. I think it should be left so at least until someone knows what it's referring to or the artist says something about the matter. There's a discussion going on about the subject on the imageboard this was posted.

And no. There's no connection unless setz speaks some kind of dialect that I'm less familiar with. The "-illa" in "Ranilla" is perfectly correct standard Finnish morpheme.

Feel free to edit my translations, though. I'm not saying nobody could do better. ;)

No problem. I know zero Finnish, so I didn't want to leap in blind, as it were, and "fix" it. I figured suggesting the change in comments and letting you, the translator, decide was safer.

Well, as a native Fin, I didn't even think it should be -lla instead of what it's now. Don't really care either way, though, as they both sound fine to me, even if the other is grammatically incorrect.

    OK, I guess it's a regional thing.

Someone already changed them anyway. I guess it's best like this.

I think we can add this to the "Everybody is straight in Gensoukyo" pool, since Rinnosuke joins in

I would say it makes an impression pretty similar to Gollum's "Oh, we like goblinses, batses, and fishes, but we hasn't tried Hobbitses before."
