  • なかなかカロリーが凶悪そうなたこ焼きでした!
    おいしかった!
    もちろん原作のヤマメさんの嗜好ではございません。
    念のため。

These takoyaki seemed atrociously caloric! And they were delicious!

Naturally, they're not to the taste of the original Yamame-san, just so you know.

Aww, c'mon now, Yamame-san. Onions don't smell (or taste) that bad once you cook it nice and soft. They're actually sweet, you know.

That may be, but from Sanae's reaction, this dish is particularly covered in green onions, and I'd wager they're not cooked enough to mellow the taste/smell, especially for someone who hates onions.

Reader-added tags include "System: 'Oh ho...fiendishly caloric, eh...'", "The important thing is that Flan-chan is having fun", and "Yamame-san's being teased for not wanting to shallot money". (Originally a pun on negi kuenaku, which can mean "can't eat onions" if written with ネギ/葱 (green onion) or "shrewd at bargaining" if written with 値切 (from negiru, bargain/haggle).)

The poll believes to each his own taste:

    What can't you stand?
    • Meat
    • Seafood
    • Vegetables
    • Fruit
    • I don't hate anything

Vegetables. Their taste alone is extremely offensive to me. Have been living without them since 2005 (and have got the ill health to show for it).

And yet it's a vital part of a healthy diet. If only someone is skilled enough to prepare a vegetable meal that tastes like fish or chicken but still retains all its nutrients and vitamins.

Umm... Haters gonna hate? Okay, I don't like everything but every item on the list is absolutely fine.

The best thing about your friend not liking something that's served to you is that you can have his/her share too.

Seconded. I don't really like most vegetables, but I can eat them.
What I really can't stand are peaches, Lima beans and peas.

Not terribly fond of seafood, here.
That may be because I haven't had "good" seafood, but I've been unwilling to try anything new or old for about a decade.

I believe you are taking about Chinese vegetarian food, they are made of vegetables but look and taste like real meat. But don't eat too many of them, it was believed to cause people grow fat.

I'm similar, if only because I grew up (and continue to live) in a land-locked area, so anything that isn't quite like imitation crab or whatever frozen fish you can find at a supermarket is largely foreign to me (especially if it is the type of seafood that you have to shuck or peel or the type where connoisseurs recommend that you "suck on the head").

Man, I just realized how much I use onions (and garlic) in cooking. Also, I was barbecuing some meat last sunday, and I put some onions on the grill as well. Like what AdventZero said, they actually taste quite sweet.

Best to mix them veggies in a soup or a stew. That was pretty much what my mother did when I was a kid.

Speaking of stew... family dinner was Filipino beef stew. Good lord, was it delicious. Onions, potatoes, cabbage and all sorts of leafy veggies, baby corn, bananas... and of course, beef with fat in them. Dat broth. It'd revive any man on a cold day like tonight.

What's your address? Give me fifteen minutes and whatever veggies in your fridge and I'll make you lunch with them. It kinda comes with the territory of living below minimum wage and cheap vegetables being available year-round.

Oh, you have soy sauce in your kitchen, right?

Disclaimer: No, I won't be flying over to America anytime soon. Good luck finding a good chef, though.

    Gourmet takoyaki.
It's sooo good if you mix it with the soft-boiled egg.♡

Ghk—I'm fine, so y'all chow it all down.
    Looks like Yamame-chan hates onions!
Don't be comin' near me with that!!
    Like garlic for a vampire?
    Nmh Nom
