He's going to start ship construction again to supplement their current forces, and Inazuma doesn't have a comeback.

Well, i don't think this is going to be a problem for this admiral, his ridiculously good luck in construction will end in more battleships.

like my friend, after i made an account for him he asked me for a good ship recipe and used the battleship recipe... and guess what? his second ship was Hiei...

It's some odd artistic emphasis, here...

"I'm going to *dark, brooding look* use one of the primary game mechanics to achieve an objective in exactly the way the game is supposed to be played!" "HYIII!"

It's almost a "I'll take this potato chip... AND EAT IT!" moment.

EDIT: Oh, and paracite, just in case you've overlooked it, a couple pages back in this pool, there's a couple pages gap in the translations - post #1705198

You seem to assume he'll go about this is a logical way and not just dump hellish amounts of resources into extreme long shots in an attempt to get the biggest ship possible as quickly as possible.

    This seems a... problematic assumption.

By that measure, anyone who uses large ship construction is a raving lunatic and/or demon.

The idea that destroyers run expeditions is treated as a horrible fate, but it's basically the primary role of a destroyer in the game.

Pepekekeko's manga basically portrays this same thing as the admiral being careless, but here, it's evil grins and menace.

I predict that his first attempt at LSC will get him Yamato, who will proceed to give Inazuma a heart attack.

I think you're kind of looking at this too much from a gaming or outside context perspective here when the 'horror' I think is intended to be seen as felt more by the character within it. Admittedly the line is kind of blurry since the comic has used game mechanisms before, but considering this from an "in universe" perspective where the resources being flushed down the toilet in failed attempts would've been earned by days if not weeks of painful toil the prospect of having the Admiral shit them away in a massive throw of the dice must seem suitably horrifying to poor Inazuma.

And perhaps the fact that to outside 'players' said often utterly futile sacrifices to the RNG gods are met with an 'oh well' and seen as par for the course and no big deal could even be considered another layer of horror. Indeed it seems quite likely that every time you dump a boat load of resources into LCS and are rewarded with something equivalent in value to a decorative toaster cozy all the destroyers back in their barracks weep in pained anguish.

I hope you're happy, you monster.

    Think of it like this.
The factory manager (Admiral) aim for zero liquidity (no resource/cash, every single dime invested for shipbuilding/production machines). Then when he need resource/money for a job, he just kick the workers and tell them to work 200% to get that cash ready by next morning. Of course, no overtime pay.

He's spending the resource without managing the resource to be left for expeditions and missions. And the rate is higher than what the destroyers can replenish (without overtime)

Actually his secretary ships are pretty good at keeping him from wasting too much resources. Inazuma being the best at it and Kongou also being pretty good at holding his construction lust at bay. The only times he recklessly spent resources was when Inazuma, as his only ship at the time, was in dock from damage from 1-2 and when Kongou, his current secretary ship was in dock from 1-4.

And when Aoba interviewed the 6th destroyer division, they all mentioned that while they're mostly used for expeditions a lot, the Admiral treats them to dinners for successful missions and generally makes their lives rather comfortable.

The only reason they're all acting this scared was because A) they're all medium damaged or worse, and thus they also need the resources for repairs and resupply (and Kaga's appetite), and B) the admiral's known to use recopies the game suggests, to if he's going for either another Battleship or carrier, he's going to be spending a lot of resources

Amusingly, he's mentioned how easy it was to go through Orel Sea, here... If he just did some relatively cheap constructions for subs, he could probably go Orel Cruising all day every day. Let the destroyers have a little more time off, and just "abuse the bajeezus" out of Imuya, Goya, Iku, and/or Hachi. (Presumably until they look like this: post #1692960)

I'd especially expect Iku, since she has the most ridiculously sexualized character desig- I mean "dangerous weapons", and sending her out to solo.

So far he hasn't acquiring the submarine girls yet. So I assure he might end up doing the Orel Cruising too.

'Decapitation strike' sounds a little awkward (although they've got the right idea).

首級を取る was usually used to describe the taking of the enemy's head (literally) ages ago, and as they said it, there's no value in collecting the low-ranking soldiers' heads. When you do it, you aim for the enemy commander.

In this context, the Admiral was referring to striking down the enemy's boss/flagship/elite/whatever.

So, based on this discussion's results, I'll start with getting the thing we need the most done first.
    *shock*
    D-Development? Equipments
At any rate, our fate is in the hands of that huge compass. There's nothing I can do about that.
    *drop*
    Force enhancement.
    Construction. Ships
Ah.... I smashed the wall without thinking.
It's not even funny when we compare the taking down of the enemy's boss compared to the other areas until now... Kongou, draw the curtains.
I was only able to get to the deepest part 1 or 2 times.
The main problem before the lack in fighting power is that crazy compass, ain't it? Even though the Orel Sea was a cakewalk...
    ...What, is it...?
