    新年あけましたね。本年一発目の顔芸担当は栄光ある(あった)大英帝国が一艦『ウォースパイト』です。味についてはオーバーな表現だったかと思い色々と調べたのですが、良いとこの店以外は概ねこんな感じみたいです。 ※ちょっとした宣伝ですが、1月14日発売の『艦隊これくしょん アンソロジーコミック横須賀鎮守府編16巻』に、6ページほどの漫画を寄稿させて頂きました。ムンムさん初めての書籍なので四苦八苦でしたが、読む人が楽しい気持ちになれるような作品になっているかと思います。きっと。

    Going on a limb here but I going to guess that Warspite found Hosho and Mamiya's fish and chips not like the English version.

    Sometimes is refreshing to eat the same type of food made with other culture. Fish and Chips is probably the best example of that.

    Saw another scanlation of this, and Warspite was apparently talking about how Downtown London Fish & Chips is horrendous, while finding Hoshou and Mamiya's fish and chips great. I'm guessing Houshou and Mamiya used a batter and cooking style more similar to tempura or tonkatsu for their fish & chips.

    ... damnit now I'm hungry. Only ever had fish & chips during the times I was in Australia.

    The way the batter is drawn seems to indicate that.

    Speaking of the way things are drawn, those chips in that basket... are those what Americans call chips (the flat crispy ones), or are they what the English call chips (the wedge/thick beam cuts)?

    they look to be chip chips, as the snack, as opposed to Fry chips.

    It's almost as though the shit you get out of a cart from a street vendor that's been boiling in lard half the day until everything remotely like moisture has been completely annihilated isn't up to the same standard of quality that a real professional chef can produce.

    And usually miles from the sea too (especially in places like London), so it's likely been sitting around in conditions that case some decay (being dead and hauled about in freezer lorries) even before being battered and fried.

    The best fish and chips are usually found in a proper fish and chip shop in a seaside town, generally with it's own fishing harbour (so they're basically taking it as soon as it's landed each day).

    B-But you see! The fish & chips that I ate downtown (London) had an indefinable obstinance to them, with their fishy-smells, frying in lard, and such harsh oiliness - right from the first bite, it's being tested on if it'll suck you in or not; It's the level of "Self-proclaimed foodstuff"!
    But this! The coating is crunchy, the fish-flesh is tender, and the oil is simply superlative in both taste and fragrance - such that one continues bite after bite!
    Just what is it...!

    I changed it up a little, though.

    I'm on my third one already, seeeee!
