    Koishi: "Big sis, what's... that?"
    Satori: "What's what?"
    Koishi: "..."

    Seriously, what is that?

The meme is russian, but I guess pochekun is ukrainian version of zhdun. If a word sounds Polish, but is written in cyrillic, it's ukrainian, right?

It was originally posted in Twitter by Japanese language teacher from Ukraine, then somehow vent viral in this form.

Oh my, so it finally reached Japan.

Yeah, this statue went viral in Russia/Ukraine on Jan 24, 2017 - here's the original post on Pikabu, the popular Russian site focused on funny stuff and memes. Both "Ждун" (Zhdun) and "Почекун" (Pochekun) are neologisms created for this occasion, literally meaning "The waiting one". Given the long living traditions of waiting in various queues, waiting in hospitals, waiting at government facilities, waiting basically everywhere, I guess it resonates with ex-USSR people.

The word "Zhdun" was likely created first, but Japan will probably adopt "Pochekun" instead, both because of that tweet and because "Zhdun" should sound quite foreign to Japanese ear, while "Poche-kun" is literally already a name - I saw it written as "ポチェくん" on pixiv.
