    The woman's love becomes intense, painful longing, but because of their difference in status, they can't meet in public. It's a reflection of the era.
    Rose flowers don't have blue pigments, so they can't become blue in the natural world.
    No one knows if her love ever reached its target, or whether it was refused.
    Here, the night is actually compared to the seeds of the nubatama plant. They're pitch black, making them a popular metaphor for darkness.

    In the language of flowers, blue roses used to mean "the impossible". However, in 2004, the company Suntory became the first in the world to develop blue roses.
    Those blue roses were given the meaning of "dreams come true".
