Is there some joke I'm missing here, or is this really as in poor taste as it seems?
People are joking that the Tumblr Sexyman Tournament finale, between Reigen and Sans, was so intense that it killed the Queen (who is implied to have been following).

A sizable chunk of tumblr (And an unspoken chunk of twitter users) don't appreciate the Queen's actions since her reign in '52. Colonialism and monarchies are disliked greatly over there.

What actions? If I recall, the Monarchy has not had actual power since the late 17th century. All matter pertaining to what she's done since 1952, have mostly been in the realm of maintaining a sense of tradition for the UK and charity work. Is this just one of those communities that dislikes something due to a bygone era's section of history (pre-18th century), or one that mistakenly links the sins of ancestors to that of their descendants?
I assume these are also the people that think the Royal family are tax-dodgers or such, when in fact they are the most heavily-taxed house in all of the UK (in essence 100% of all income) and a portion of that - usually 15% - is given back to them as a grant. The majority of the wealth is given to the nation to be used in all matters of affairs, mainly public sector.

You mean the end of british colonization right? nearly the entire empire ended under her watch. Look at the dates when all those places gained their independence.
A lot of these memes have been referencing the incredible coincidence of Queen Elizabeth dying on the same day of this Sexyman Tournament. There's a really fascinating Substack article about the intense proliferation and crossover of memes centered around Elizabeth and the Tournament written by Ryan Broderick, which you can read here. The referencing and iterating seems far too vast to keep up with at a certain point, but it makes sense on some level. Even Toby Fox wrote a fanfiction about this sexyman stuff, after all, no wonder it was a big day for memes.

You might have missed the part of the post where nearly all of these countries that gained their independence got them by fighting for it, not because the Queen decided to be nice and give them up out of generosity.

Do you expect Tumblr users to know anything about history or the British government?

I mean what is the Queen really going to fucking do, the entire advancement of politics since the Magna Carta was to take the royalty out of government.
