    The file source is useless if it comes from certain blogs...

    We want the precise location for file similarity searches, for one. It's much easier to find duplications if we use image URLs consistently. Plus blog posts may have more than one image. It's rather unfortunate the way linking works with blogs, but that's the way it is.
