Huh. Seems like they shoved a rail on the top of that MG42. Otherwise, no idea how they got that sight on it.

Could be a modern derivative of the MG42, such as the MG 3.

Actually good shout there, it is an MG3 at first I thought it looked more like an MG 32 than a 42 but no it's actually an MG 3.

The machine gun should be referring the 7.62 MG3 GPMG and there is a EOTech holographic red dot sight mounted on the top of receiver. It is not advised to be fired from shoulder position and not easy for teenage girls to handle. Nevertheless I believe Youmu and Reisen got the strength to do it.

I don't know if 1000 RPM is technical limitation or effect of some kind of limiter, but MG3 can be fed from belt, so it can hold more ammo (in a way).

It's belt-fed, so theoretically you can link as many 100-round belts as you've got together.

According to Wikipedia its rate of fire is 900-1500 rounds per minute. That's the same as the MG42; the rate of fire is varied by changing out the bolt for one of a different weight. The Wikipedia article on the MG42 says that without the recoil booster, it was capable of 1800 RPM. The same's probably true of the MG3 since they're pretty much identical except for caliber.

It's always belt-fed. The 100-round drum has a 100-round belt inside of it.

    You know...
I've probably said this before, but do you guys really need to discuss what guns are in every pic that's uploaded with them on this site?

    Odd isn't it?

What I'm liking the most about this is the Gun-bunny letting Moe-Youmu hold her Big gun with that "I Just came" look on her face

i(being stupid as always)didnt speak properly i meant how many 100 round belts can be put together in a "bag" and carried by one soldier in a reasonably sized "bag"

Both the MG 42 and the MG 3 use 50-round belts. I am not sure of the belts used by the MG 42, but the ones used by the MG 3 can be linked ad infinitum. At least the version used by the Danish army. I've used one many times, so I know from first-hand experience.

Also, the rate of fire when using blank ammo is somewhat higher than when using live ammo. When firering blank ammo, the MG 3 has that "brrrrup" sound you often hear in war movies showing the MG 42, while when firering live ammo, the sound is sharper and the rate slower, more like a "prrrak".

The round drum magazine for the MG 34 and MG 42 are called a "sturmmagazin" and holds one belt of ammo, 50 rounds, I believe, at least for the MG 42. Those 50 rounds are gone in 2.5 seconds, so you better learn some trigger discipline...

BTW, we got 20mm standard rails on some of our MG 3's and can mount optical and night vision sights on them. Kinda neat.

    I JELLY.

We have UK vz. 59 and unlike the rest of Czech weapon designs, this one is utter shit. Jams like motherfucker and sucks at everything else. I would like to see the designer try to provide consistent fire support with a 50rd belt if every 15th or so round jams. Finally you break, admit it's your fault and spend three hours cleaning it. After you're done and take it to the range, it goes LOL I TROL U and jams the *fifth* round.
