The Yatagarasu looks awesome! Being a lava monster was a great idea!

I love whatever this guy does, but I'm very enthusiastic with this...

I'm guessing that Okuu already has the Yata inside her somewhere but the old bird is either manifesting as a vision or using her/its powers to shape the lava.

Considering how the comic has gone with Okuu.... It will probably be that the Yatagarasu might grab her arm and "infect" it so that it becomes a huge source of power and she's forced to stay away from everyone until somehow they create the control rod for her. Or Karaagetarou could main Okuu further and she just ends up losing her right arm. Not sure what he'll come up with to explain the atom around her left leg though.

It was implied in SA that Koishi was wandering on the surface before SA occurred.

Maybe Okuu won't cause any troubles until Koishi gets the hat and goes off. The way the artist is making the story, I think that will happen...

Maybe, but thats a stretch. You have to remember, Kanako gave Okuu her nuclear powers and Kanako is a newcomer to Gensokyo. Therefore, Koishi was wandering the surface a minimum of between the end of MoF and SA. Thats an unusually small amount of time for Yukari to notice Koishi, consult with the underground youkai regarding Koishi breaking their "deal" and writing her off as a special exception.
