Megatron is one of the most well-known villains of the Transformers franchise. He is the powerful and merciless leader of the antagonist faction, the evil Decepticons.
His original alternate mode is a grey and silver Walther P38handgun with several attachments. His vehicular mode varies in each depiction, but he usually transforms into a military vehicle. Notably as M1 Abrams main battle tank in the live action movie.
Megatron's first G1 design was created by designer Ohno Kouhjin for the Diaclone japanese transformationrobottoy series in the early 80s.

Alternate Versions
Galvatron - the upgraded form Unicron gives to Megatron in the G1 movie, and the name used for his upgraded form in several later series as well. As Galvatron is sometimes depicted as a completely separate character, at times existing alongside Megatron, images of Galvatron alone should not be tagged as Megatron.
