A 1995 beat 'em up, platformer game that was released on the Sega Genesis and produced by Sega.
The game follows Sketch Turner, a comic book artist in the real world working on his newest comic book, Comix Zone, which is set in a post-apocalypse Earth where humanity are fighting against evil conquering mutants from Space. On one stormy night, a lighting bolt hits Sketch's comic which causes the main villain of the comic, Mortus, to appear in the real world. Wishing to aquire a real body so he can conquer the real world, Mortis forcefully transports Sketch into the comic so he can kill his creator and get his body. To stop Mortus, Sketch must travel the world of Comix Zone to defeat Mortus minions so he can return back.
The game was well received for it's comic book graphics and soundtrack but was criticized for it's repetitive gameplay. The game would be later rereleased on other consoles as part of Sega's Games Collection. In 2022, it was announced that a movie adaptation of Comix Zone is in the works.
