sega mega drive

SEGA's 16-bit home game console, released in 1988 in Japan. Known in North America as the Sega Genesis and released there a year later in 1989.

A miniature version with built-in games called the Sega Mega Drive Mini was released in 2019.

Preceded by the 8-bit Sega Master System and succeeded by the Sega Saturn.
