While he values his friends and acts as an older brother figure to them, he has a habit of being a skirt chaser and often ends up getting in trouble as a result, he is childhood friends with Dimitri, Felix and Ingrid. He was also favored by his father over his half-brotherMiklan because he is the only one with his family's Crest of Gautier.
In-game, Sylvain is a balanced and flexible character who initially serves best as a Cavalier, but can fit into virtually any role with enough effort, with only his Dexterity being slightly below average.
