Azure Striker Gunvolt (Japanese: 蒼き雷霆ガンヴォルト, Armed Blue Gunvolt) is an action side-scrolling platforming series developed by Inti Creates with some input from Inafune Keiji. The series serves as a spiritual successor to the Mega Man Zero series. The series started with Azure Striker Gunvolt 1, and follows the titular Gunvolt.
The series later gained a sequel, Azure Striker Gunvolt 2, which takes place a few months after the events of its predecessor, where Gunvolt crosses paths with an Adept-hunting avenger named Copen (EN) / Acura (JP) from the previous game as they encounter a group of Adepts known as Eden, whom harbor a hatred towards humans, seeking to use Joule's powers to wipe out humans and create a new utopia for Adepts.
A gaiden game, Gunvolt Chronicles Luminous Avenger iX, later follows after the events of Azure Striker Gunvolt 1 and focuses on Copen. It received a sequel, Luminous Avenger iX 2, in 2022.
There are also supplementary materials that expands on the series' world and characters, such as Azure Striker Gunvolt: Fleeting Memories, a prequel story taking place before the first game, as well as an OVA based on the first game released through the Nintendo 3DS eShop in February 2017 and later made available on DVD and Blu-Ray that same year.
Gunvolt also made an appearance in Mighty Gunvolt, a retro-inspired spin-off series of games also from Inti Creates that features a cross-over of Azure Striker Gunvolt, Mighty No. 9, and Gal☆Gun.
A third game in the main series, Azure Striker Gunvolt 3, was released in 2022 and is set decades after the events of Azure Striker Gunvolt 2.
The main series trilogy received a compilation re-release titled Azure Striker Gunvolt Trilogy Enhanced, which was released in July 2025. It will contain a Gunvolt 3-based story mode, Azure Striker Gunvolt GX, which will release in October 2026.
