beaked whale
Toothed whales from the Ziphiidae family, that consists of over 24 living species. They are distinguished by their elongated snouts and lack of teeth, except for a pair of tusks found in the males of some species. Due to hunting in deep waters, they are very elusive with most species being known only from washed up carcasses. Despite their resemblance to dolphins, they are more closely related to sperm whales.
