body armor

Any form of modern protective gear that is worn over a person's body for protection against melee attacks (e.g. stabs), arrows, bullets, shrapnel, or frags. and Typically worn by military personnel, military operators, police officers, security guards, medics and reporters/journalists in warzones, sometimes worn by bodyguards.

Notable examples are Kevlar bulletproof vest, plate carrier that can contain ballistic plates, flak jacket, and the bulky bomb suit.

If the armor looks archaic or medieval, use armor instead.
