body markings
Any markings on the skin of a character that are unusual (excluding moles, freckles, etc.), and are either:
- a natural trait of the character, possibly shared by others of their clan, race or species, or;
- of ambiguous nature. It may be unclear whether the markings are tattoos, makeup/bodypaint, tanlines, or something else.
Body markings on humans are also known as birthmarks.
