charro

Charros are generally Mexican horse riders, who maintain traditional dress, such as some form of sombrero. Their outfit, as well as their performance, is believed to have originated in the northeast highlands of the state of Jalisco.

Old Mexican outlaws, bandits, revolutionaries, bounty hunters, and gunmen who wore similar dress are also called charro.
