4chan is the largest english imageboard.

Uploading

images should use the post link rather than the direct image link, which will result in bad link being added to the post. Clicking on the "No." next to the post number will convert the page url to a direct post link, which can then be pasted into the upload page or added with the bookmarklet.

Artist tags

Artist tags should only be derived from post usernames when they are clearly not third-party sources, such as those in drawfag threads. Some artists may use a tripcode in their username, which should be removed from the username and included as an other name in the artist entry.

Archives

Archive websites should not be used as sources for posts, instead the original post link should be reconstructed from the archive link. This is because the imageboard archives frequently shut down and are replaced by new archives causing source link rot. Userscripts like 4chanx will automatically redirect dead 4chan post links to the current active archive.
