An enemy group from Genshin Impact. Hilichurls are a goblin-like family of monsters that are one of the first enemies encountered in-game.

Regardless of their growth stage, all Hilichurls have a fluffy mane with two long ears and always wear a loincloth and a mask to hide their face. Hilichurls that are afflicted with an element will take on that element's color. As a Hilichurl grows and survives, they eventually turn into Mitachurls. Mitachurls that continue to grow and absorb elemental energy will turn into Lawachurls.

Most Hilichurls live in tribes which are usually led by Samachurls, although many are also affilliated with the Abyss Order as they are easily manipulated by Abyss Mages. Hilichurls are quite intelligent, as they can use tools and Slimes, raise livestock and even communicate through their own language, Hilichurlian.

Hilichurls were actually once humans, notably Khaenri'ans, who were cursed by the Gods for "sinning", being granted a curse known as the "curse of the wilderness". This curse causes the person to transform into a monster, with their intelligence and behavior gradually degrading. They also slowly lose memories of their former life, although they still retain some self-awarness and emotion. Hilichurls recall what it was like to have a human face, so they wear masks to prevent the anguish of seeing their true faces.
