Marvel Comics is an American comic book company created in 1939 that publishes comic books and related media. Rival to DC Comics.
The Marvel universe consists of multiple well-known superhero teams, including the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Most of Marvel's characters operate in a reality known as the Marvel Universe, with most locations mirroring real-life places; many characters are based in New York City.
