sakura taisen

サクラ大戦 Sakura_Wars サクラ画廊 サクラ大戦シリーズ

A video game series produced by Sega and Red Entertainment, beginning in 1996. It consists of five main games, which are hybrid tactical RPG/dating sims, and numerous spinoffs in various genres. There are also several anime adaptations, a manga adaptation of the first game, and even live-action performances by the voice actors.

The fifth game was released in America in 2010 (five years after its Japanese release) under the title Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love, and was the only game in the series that released outside of Japan until the reboot was released overseas under the title Sakura Wars in 2020. Despite this, many of the series' anime adaptations were licensed and received English releases complete with dubs - though the OVA based on V was ironically never released overseas.
