shijou saikyou no deshi ken'ichi
(lit. "History's Strongest Disciple Ken'ichi" aka "Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple" in the US)
A 2002 martial arts manga by Matsuena Shun, serialized in Shougakukan's Weekly Shounen Sunday. Later adapted into a 2006 anime series and video game.
The manga is essentially a remake of an earlier work by Matsuena, the 1999 Tatakae! Ryouzanpaku Shijou Saikyou no Deshi (戦え!梁山泊 史上最強の弟子, lit. Fight! Ryouzanpaku, History's Strongest Disciple), which was serialized in Shougakukan's Shounen Sunday Super.
