[Arknights] Costume implications

No explanation or discussion of these names and no one else seems to be in support. Why should we use full names for these characters when we use first names for everyone else?

The reason most NPC tags use first name is because they only have a first name. Most Arknights NPC tags omit any titles and use the full name when there is a given full name. So Ratatos is Ratatos Browntail, and Pope Yvangelista XI is Yvangelista XI, not Pope (arknights).

Requests to alias to the character's full name has been approved before: forum #244264, forum #244338. There was also a first name -> last name alias because the character is primarily referred by his last name. If we're to have first name -> last name aliases we might as well use the full name.

There are also characters with the same first name: Hildegard Grimmacht and Hildegard.

NPC tags using full names that were not created by me:

Western

Eastern

I think a notable distinction in some of these cases is how they're presented as an enemy: Jesselton is "Jesselton Williams" and Pancho Salas is "Pancho Salas" but Andoain is "Andoain, the 'Martyr'" and K(ir/ri)sten is just "Kristen".

But not every NPC has been an enemy. I would rather them to have some consistency. Clément Dubois' enemy name is "The Gardener", but he's still Clement Dubois. As for Andoain, his last name is intentionally hidden in past events for lore reasons.

BUR #48110 has been approved by @evazion.

create implication kal'tsit_(the_remains_of_time)_(arknights) -> kal'tsit_(arknights)

Kal'tsit received a second purchasable costume, which is an adaption of her story-exclusive maid uniform. Compare this to Swire's alter design, that was similarly derived from her swimsuit sprite.

I will write a detailed guide on how to differentiate the two, once we get the clean PNG from the datamined update.

It would also be prudent to rename kal'tsit_(maid)_(arknights) since that name is now ambiguous.

I don't quite agree, the two designs are differenti enough to warrant separate tags. That's why a brought up Swire, who uses two.

Keep in mind that some skins did require a retroactive rename, such as some Ambience Synesthesia outfits (for example Amiya (medic) (Solo Around The World) , Ines (Melodic Flutter) and Stainless (Empty Crown)). These skins were identical to their previous ones.

I don't think this the case for Kal'tsit.

To that end I agree, what I'm thinking about is the possibility of people unfamiliar with Arknights who may tag Kal's Remains of Time skin as A Walk in the Dust Kal because they may see Kal in a maid uniform and just tag kalt'sit_(maid)_(arknights) without looking into it.

That's true, kal'tsit_(a_walk_in_the_dust)_(maid)_(arknights) would look messy though, anyone have a better name for it?

The *_(summer)_(arknights) qualifier we use for the non-playable summer outfits is also "potentially ambiguous" with the summer alters and the summer skins, but they work fine. Generally mistags happen when we don't have tags or functioning wikis for each similar outfits so they get mixed together. If we have tags for every outfit it already helps the distinction. Leave it be for the moment, we can see how it goes and if there are really too many mistags then we can find a solution.

Haruka has an official costume (post #9799618) that has a bunch of fanart and no costume tag for it, would (casual) work as a qualifier or is there a better name that can be used instead?

Should've done this earlier. I just haven't gotten around to it. "Casual" is a good name, it's also what I had in mind.
